Often seen as decoration on stone houses, what type of wood is this, does anyone know?

Wooden cladding with horizontal planks, often seen as decoration on stone houses, under a set of windows.

Some horizontal tongue and groove paneling it looks like, maybe horizontal Z-panel, single or double bevel siding.

They are cedar panels
ok, thanks. I usually find it easy to recognize, but I guess this one was a bit older and a bit more worn. This was probably the best section of the entire building, some parts were very dark.
