Hello!

My partner and I have recently moved into an apartment in Stockholm built around the 50s. We want to put up an Elfa shelf for books and we thought the wall was made of aerated concrete - but no. The plug came right out. We maybe thought it was some type of plaster but there’s no "hole" and the dust is very gray/black almost. Close-up of a wall with black dust and a white outlet on a 1950s Stockholm apartment, querying the wall type for Elfa shelf mounting. Close-up of a drilled hole in a wall with rough edges, showing dark interior possibly indicating unknown wall material, as part of a shelving inquiry. This is what it looks like… does anyone know what type of wall it is and how (if possible) to attach an Elfa shelf that will hold for books?

Best regards,
The couple who is clueless despite Google

Blåbetong maybe.
There are special lightweight concrete screws. Otherwise, anchor mass.

Thank you all for the quick responses and help :)

How did it turn out in the end? Did you manage to put up the shelf properly? I have the same issue myself and am looking for good solutions.
