Carriage bolt
M8 x 40 x 40 x 100pcs

Are these bolts with UNC thread?

What dimensions (measured in mm) are the bolt's diameter and length?

No, these are screws with metric thread, M8.

As Blecktrumman also wrote, it's called a screw! Regardless of the shape of the head or whether they are pointed or blunt, it's called a screw if there are threads. Bolts have no threads! Bolts have a round head, no threads, but instead, at the opposite end, a hole for something like a cotter pin.

Since the use of the original type of bolt you refer to is very rare today, this hardly matters?

The problem with calling everything a screw is that it doesn't distinguish between a joint where you thread into one or both pieces, or one with external locking with a nut.
Possibly, one could call the latter a screwed bolt joint?

I bought a pallet of plastic bags at an auction once.....
When I looked a little more closely, they were bags for carrots, i.e. with holes in them!!
Well, you learn something new every day :-)

do you still have these screws and nuts?
