What do you do with 50 packs of bolts?
Managed to win a pallet with:
"70s packages of screws, bolts, nuts, and washers" at an online auction.
Saw a couple of pictures of the packages where many nice screws and bolts were displayed!
Since screws were listed first, I assumed there would be mostly screws.
Went to pick up the items yesterday.
70 packages, around 200kg, maybe 5-10 packages of screws (nice ones, expensive). Then it was almost all bolts. Some are okay, but most have UNC/UNF threads. And no nuts were included.
But they are sturdy bolts! Ranging from 200 bolts to 20 in each package, depending on the size. So it's a lot of bolts.
Bought the whole thing for 1500:-
Well, this will be a learning expense, and some of it can be used.
But all these bolts with UNC/UNF threads? What am I going to do with them? You can buy nuts that fit some of them at places like biltema for a cheap price.
I've started to list in my head what you can use thicker bolts for. The list is short
Live in a house and renovate a lot. And there are quite a few woodworking projects. Deck, tool shed, wood shed, etc. But it's usually screws in various dimensions that are needed.
What should I do with 50 packages of bolts? Build a fortress of screws where I can serve tea to the neighbors?

With the messerschmidt mode activated, it is actually called a screw even if it has a hexagon head. (what I assume you call a bolt)
UNC/UNF threads can be interesting for people who are restoring old cars, boats, airplanes, for example, or locomotives or anything else. We are all different, but personally, I keep all that stuff in different boxes, it's good to have sooner or later
Do you have images/specs of what is available?
Somewhere in the forum, there is a thread about an auction that "someone" attended.....
Oops. Someone bought 17,000 kitchen doors in various non-compatible dimensions for 300 bucks...good thing he had a wood chipper.
"Someone" on the forum accidentally bought 24 pallets of junk. Another "Someone" from the forum fit about as much stuff as a semi-trailer can hold into their little personal car.
Auctions are fun...what do you want for the bolt..

Thought a screw was always pointed
Oh well. Apparently, one is never fully learned.
I was thinking of making a list of everything included. I'll post it here later, but it will take a while (months) before it's ready. I don't have time now, and there are quite a few things.
Here are a couple of pictures

Hmm. Damn that you live so far away.
What do you think about photographing everything, writing down what it is (perhaps doing this rather than photographing, as there will be many photos), and posting it on Blocket?
That way, maybe I can get rid of most of the bolts, and only keep what I want (screws).
