What are these dimensions of lumber?
Hello,
I am planning to build a fence/railing in conjunction with the deck construction, and I found a picture that shows exactly what I want.
What I'm trying to figure out are the dimensions of the wood.
As you can see, the horizontal and vertical planks between the posts are of the same width and thickness.
If you consider the planks (outer horizontal, vertical, inner horizontal) each to be 28mm thick, then the posts should be 95x95 to accommodate them.
This means that the planks between the posts are 28x95.
That's as far as I've gotten, please let me know if I'm mistaken?
What I have left is the top rail, which I was thinking of making in 120x45, but it seems to be of a different dimension here. Is it possibly 120x28 or something else?
Is there anyone with a bit more experience who can determine what it is?

Good point, that's possible. However, it might not make a huge difference in appearance if you have 22mm or 28mm. I feel the important thing is that the width of the planks is right, i.e., that I don't buy 95 when it was 70 in the picture.T tergo said:
Hope it turns out well with 95x95, 28x95, and 28x120
