Going to build an additional floor on a small old house. I find very large CLT floor structures interesting but wonder if they weigh too much. The CLT panels should rest on an attic joist that should be leveled with as few pressure points as possible.

CLT weighs approximately 500kg/m3, which I assume would result in a typical floor structure weighing around 100-150kg/m2.
Martinssons (I'm sure all of them) has a good PDF with information about CLT where weight, spans, etc. are listed if you want to geek out with facts.

Sounds boringly heavy. The surface is 50 sqm. So it becomes 5 tons at 100 kg/sqm as I understand it. But thanks for the answer.

I must admit that I've only seen KL for commercial buildings and have no idea what thicknesses are involved for you, so my estimate (read guess) may well be on the high side.M Maidi Eriksson said:
