On the one hand, you could argue that you bought the wrong thing, which is hardly Byggmax's fault... Fastening something with a lower grade than 8.8 is unnecessary, especially since Byggmax actually sells good screws in class 8.8 in bulk, quite cheaply...B bordsskiva said:Then I take this opportunity to warn against Byggmax hot-dip galvanized threaded rods and hot-dip galvanized nuts! Pure junk!
Mounted fence posts to embedded post irons last summer but was forced to buy new material from a proper firm that sells online. The tensile strength was awful; couldn't tighten the nuts, and the threads kept breaking or losing tension. Tried saving it with double nuts per side, but it was futile.
Complained in the store, but the staff didn't understand any technical language at all. Had to replace 20m of fencing! The proper screws (which also had a material specification described) could be tightened as needed. Lost 3-400 SEK and about 15 hours on this.
A lot of work
On the other hand, I do wonder what these unclassified threaded rods are actually for...

Everyone has their own convictions. Personally, I feel like Byggmax probably wasn't present the day the word quality was invented. The few times I've visited the store have all ended in great disappointment and a visit to another store.Z zingo said:A bit unnecessary to exaggerate, perhaps? I have built three buildings from scratch with 80-90% timber and materials from Byggmax and never had any problems at all. In my opinion, Sweden's best chain ever. Their comparatively tiny stores almost always have everything you need when you need it. And no, I don't work at Byggmax...
Unfortunately, I'm not wiser than to repeat the same mistake several times, always with the same embarrassing result. Nowadays, I have at least trained my partner so that she knows every time I mention Byggmax, she should forbid me from visiting that chain of stores.

Personally, I find that one could often buy exactly the same products available at Byggmax for 50-100% higher prices at Woody (now Beijer).
I am usually satisfied with Byggmax. On the contrary, I often drive to Bejiers or Woody and then in pure horror drive to Byggmax to buy the same things much, much cheaper.
Here, the staff at Byggmax is much friendlier than those at both Woody and Bejiers.
To return to the topic, I must say that I managed to snap the heads off a bunch of Byggmax drywall screws this week. I've been installing Fermacell drywall in a future bathroom, and the heads didn't hold up, resulting in me attaching the panels with particle board screws instead...
