Warning for Byggmax Roof Paint
WARNING,
Unfortunately, I must advise against buying Byggmax Ceiling Paint!
I made a gigantic mistake when I bought their ceiling paint; the ceiling is still spotty after two coats.

TS has missed that you must paint spots with blocking paint (oil paint) before starting with the topcoat, it has more to do with TS's slightly poorer prior knowledge than with Byggmax..
You forgot to clean the ceiling with paint wash!
If you've smoked or cooked, and food odors have entered the room, you're out of luck; you can paint 4-5 times and the grease and nicotine will seep through the paint.
It's only on new plasterboard that you can paint directly without washing.

If I assume that it concerns white paint for ceilings, then I agree. Byggmax had three different price categories to choose from. I bought the cheapest one and got a poor result. It was streaky and patchy after 3 coats with a roller.
Then I bought the mid-priced paint. It was much better!

Knowledge is a good starting point regarding materials etc., but I have used Byggmax easy filler for many years, certainly more than 100 ten-liter buckets, and it's absolutely great at a price that's a quarter of brand-name products! BUT it's NEVER CERTAIN to buy such things in discount stores since they suddenly change suppliers and it turns into pure junk! If you buy in a fancy store, you get what you pay for! The tip is if you're doing a small job, buy reliable products. If it's many buckets, low price can be just as good as something four or five times more expensive, but you always need to test first, and if Biltema and others sell something that is top quality, it's not certain that it will be the same quality a year later!
Could also be an inexperienced "painter" applying too little paint, or actually spreading the paint over too large a surface before the next dip.S Swedishdecorater said:
Wash the ceiling with painting detergent beforehand? Right there you should realize you're using a crappy paint.
I'm amazed by people who try to save money on paint. Especially after I read here how good Biltema wall paint is on the forum. (You might as well paint with water and get the same effect)
Buy a brand name paint... the extra cost compared to cheap paint saves you all the headaches you'll avoid.

In an old kitchen with a glossy ceiling, I would always wash the ceiling, even if I'm going to paint with professional paints...Niklasloow said:
