Hello everyone!
I want to bounce something off of you since I've received a variety of answers. I've used a smaller saw to cut out 1.20x1.40 pieces from installed drywall on an exterior wall. I won't go into why I did it that way but let's just say it was the most practical approach ;).
My question concerns the vapor barrier that was "torn up" in some places where I was cutting. Surely, it should be enough to tape the seams that formed with a type-approved vapor barrier tape? I understand that dealing with an exterior wall and vapor barrier is something to be cautious about. But where do you draw the line for how meticulous you need to be here?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking any shortcuts and always strive to do things "by the book" = no cheating. The house was built in '91 and the insulation layer in the outer wall is about 18 cm, if that matters in this context.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's enough to tape the incisions with the right kind of tape.

Okay, I suspected that. I'm quite new to the "construction scene" so I read up on what I need to know and mix it with common sense. Sometimes, however, that's not enough when you get different answers to your questions. That's when it's perfect to have all of you to ask...
Thanks for the help!
