Vapor barrier - narrow or wide?

There is vapor brake in 1.5m width and there is in 2.7-2.8m width. The latter results in significantly fewer seams to tape, but is it very difficult to work with?

It's so thin that the wider one is not much of a problem.

It is more work and more expensive to tape a seam than to use a wider plastic.

Yes, I think so too. But then I see that some sellers only have a 1.5m width, and I was wondering if there was a good reason for it? Maybe an Austrian standard?
