Valve for mounting AC exhaust hose. Balcony door.

I live in a townhouse and was planning to buy a portable AC for our bedroom on the 2nd floor. There's no vent in the room or air vent on the side of the window, so my only option is to make a hole in the balcony door. What kind of vent do I need? I will move the AC when it's cooler outside, so I don't want a lot of cold air to come in or water to get into the door.

What do I need, folks? Is a regular air vent (the kind in metal) and latex sealant around the hole enough when I install the vent?

The dimension and possibility to close it after the season are what you need to consider. However, I would recommend investing in a split unit instead (having experienced both options myself). Jula and cheapy usually sell a Zibro with quick-connect for 4000. It becomes much quieter and more attractive.

Otherwise, Bauhaus sells a portable AC with a kit to achieve what you are asking for. You can then have the unit on the balcony and only the ventil on the control panel on the inside. It costs just over 10000:-

I had a small window, so I sawed an old cabinet side to the size of the window, made a hole for the hose in the wooden board, and clamped it in the window opening, avoiding having to cut a hole in the door or the house.

Bought a portable AC at Elgiganten, seems okay. So, I only need the valve to make the hole in the door, to attach the valve and then connect the hose to.

My parents made such a solution in their house, dad made a hole in the door and installed a disc valve he found in the garage. In winter, they close the valve and put a cloth in the hole (from the inside) so that it doesn't get cold drafts.
