I have purchased a small prefab shed kit made from molded, lacquered metal sheets. The shed is American, and in true USA fashion, the actual instructions are preceded by numerous disclaimers and warranty clauses. One of these states that the manufacturer cannot guarantee the durability of the rust protection if the shed is placed on pressure-treated wood. Personally, I am not too concerned about invoking the warranty for minor issues and can potentially live with some rust risk—but how hazardous are the chemicals in the treated wood for normal metal constructions (I don't think the metal is galvanized, but rather has some sort of vinyl-based "coating")? Is there anything to worry about?

The shed essentially consists of U-shaped metal beams that are assembled into a house-like skeleton, which is then covered with molded metal sheets.

Grateful for your response,
/Jörgen

Some screws' surface treatments seem to dislike treated wood, so it's not impossible. A simple solution to your problem is to place strips of roofing felt between the joists and treated wood.

Thank you Mathias, yes, I am considering such a solution or something similar myself - but it truly feels like overkill......
Best regards, Jörgen
