We have 7 cm thick standing planks. In the hallway, I removed the boards that were over the planks in a partition wall (load-bearing). Almost immediately, some twisted, cracked you could say. This was some years ago. On the other side, there are also boards. We have thought about painting a thin layer over them but now wonder if they will twist even more, so we should refrain.
