OSB is super suitable for mounting TVs on. Is it even possible to buy a TV that can't be hung up with 2-4 screws?

64" Plasma..

I have hung a 25kg mirror in 2 M6 molly bolts in a single plasterboard wall so it should be possible to hang a 16kg TV on an OSB.

A 6mm screw is enough. But use two so it's easier to level it.....:)

How many 6mm screws are needed to hang up a small car on an OSB board? A dozen should be enough, right?

Hung up a 37" in the boy's room today, 3 pcs 6x50 Essve cutters are holding it up.
Only OSB and gypsum, tried to hang as best as I could on the bracket, tricky to find something to hold onto.

No problems (weighs 1-2 kilos on the wrong side of the 100-mark)

yep

Almost makes you want to try it...
With the right mounting, you'll mostly get tension, and a 6mm screw with the required length in OSB can handle around 200kg tension, right?
My 206 (surprise!) has a curb weight of 1170kg, so without fluids and driver, it's a bit under 1100kg. Should be enough with 6 screws then, right? :D

....but then it's important to get the board to attach to the studs and the studs to attach to ...etc.

Of course!
But the biggest problem I saw right away was the crane I don't have to lift the car there ;)
If one were a multimillionaire and more philosophically inclined...
Imagine how much less space a car that is used 5 times a year takes if it's hanging on the wall instead!

But if you lay the house down, you can drive it onto the wall directly so there's no problem, then you tilt the house back upright and presto, you have the car hanging on the wall.

Then it would be more convenient to glue the car with superglue. A few years ago this was done for advertising purposes, I think it was by Loctite.

Good tip!
Where can you find hinges for house tipping? Biltema?

So - I've now bought a piece of OSB for mounting on the wall after painting. The guy at the hardware store had a different opinion about attaching the wall mount to the OSB board. His idea was to use double gypsum expanders instead of screwing directly into the OSB board, citing that 12 mm is too "shallow" for the screws to hold firmly in the OSB board.
Since everyone here agreed yesterday that screws seemed to work well, I'd like an opinion on expanders.

This was how I initially planned to do it: (Mistake in the image, should be 6mm screw)

Diagram of mounting screws and washers on a bracket, labeled 4.2 x 50 screws. For OSB wall installation context.

If you use decent plugs for the wall behind (drywall, right?) or happen to hit a stud with one or two screws, then you can hang up 10 TVs without a problem!
