Trellis for stairs -load-bearing?

Hello everyone

Is this trellis load-bearing? I have searched around the forum and according to all readings, it should NOT be load-bearing but would like to hear an opinion it's not a thick 70x70 post either (sales picture) but only 70x20 for the trellis attached with a screw in the stringer

Looks like a 70s house and if so, it is not load-bearing.

Thank you for that... that's correct, the house was built in 75

Then I'll try to tear it down tomorrow

It is not load-bearing but can be stabilizing to some extent. However, it doesn't seem to be a problem at all with your staircase model.

The actual function of the railing is to prevent people from falling down the stairs if an accident and misstep occur …
