I have a covered walkway to the house built from wood with a roof made of rough timber with felt and copper sheeting on the sides. It needs renovation now as some of the supporting beams (rough 50x250mm) are in bad condition.
I have removed the copper sheets as they were no longer tight, allowing leaves, water, etc., to cause damage to the wooden beams. Since the felt on the roof will be replaced in the spring, I need to treat the beams that are still good with something for now, as they are unprotected at the moment.
Once the renovation is complete, the beams will no longer be visible, so it doesn't need to look nice. The important thing is that it provides moisture and mold protection and doesn't need to be painted over.
Raw linseed oil is what I use in similar situations.
To my knowledge, no fungus likes linseed oil.
The Roslagsmahogny you are considering also works, but the tar can smell a bit when the sun beats down, for a few years after the treatment. It depends on whether you think that's okay or not. I think tar smells good, and outdoors it's usually not a problem.
