treat mold... how important is it?

Had a leak in the upstairs window.

Water stains on the downstairs walls. Opened the walls but the insulation looked okay. Will replace it anyway, removed it and saw very few suspicious stains on a couple of boards and some studs...

Have now applied 2 liters over several rounds with that stuff they sell in paint stores for this. Some kind of charcoal.

But then I read on the bottle that you should treat an extra meter around the discolorations... And then I started to wonder how to reach the studs and such above the ceiling... have tried to apply as best as I can but...

I mean, there's no obvious mold, what I brushed might just have been dirt or moisture stains...

How dangerous is it if I settle for this treatment and put on insulation, plastic, and drywall?

-Should I bring in Anticimex and let them spray with their better product? It will probably cost a fortune...

anticimex said that there was probably no danger in my bedrooms... but I shouldn't install new insulation and panels until the cause was completely resolved... he didn't buy the idea of covering the windows with plastic, at the end of the conversation he pointed out that he didn't dare advise anything other than the most extreme though...

so now the construction is at a standstill.. bah..
