Hi! It's me again with my wall. It turned out not to be load-bearing, so we've knocked it down. However, what's left are the boards (I don't know what they're called) that make up the "frame" on the ceiling and floor. We have a layer of sawdust in the attic that we're afraid might collapse if we remove the ceiling part. I'm attaching some pictures here for explanation.

What I'm wondering now is if it's okay to just pull off these parts on the ceiling and floor and then fill in to level with the floor, or if we need to saw off as much as possible (maybe with a multi-tool)?

  • Wooden interior wall removed, revealing framework. Door opening without door; scattered wooden planks on the floor. Light bulbs hang from ceiling.
  • Broken wooden beam with cracked edges, surrounded by wood shavings and remnants, viewed from a demolished wall with framing elements on the floor.
  • Debris and wooden frame remains on the floor after wall removal, with a shoe visible for scale. Sawdust and broken wood scattered around.
  • Close-up of exposed wooden framework and removed drywall in ceiling, with visible nails and damage, showing part of renovation project.
