We found 2 doors with frames that fit our measurements. But what I forgot to check was the depth of the frame itself. The ones we have on other doors are about 6.5 cm, while this frame is 9.5 cm. So, it adds 3 cm.
Can part of the frame be cut so that it fits, or is it a lost cause? Thinking about the section where the holes aren't. See image
Another question, we have a door frame that fits 9x21. Our openings are 8x21. Can the small frame be cut so that it fits the new measurement?
Do you mean splitting the frame, removing the orange-marked parts, and then putting it back together again? How are the hinges and lock plate positioned in relation to what you want to remove?
It is basically possible, but I would have gone and bought fitting frames. The one that is too wide 9x21 can be managed if you can handle a jigsaw, making it possible to narrow down, but do you have a door in the right size?

I mean to split so that everything to the right of the orange disappears. Then sand it down and paint. The hinges and strike plates are on the side where the holes are. So it's just wood on the other piece, so to speak.
Comparing it with our other frame which is narrower, it looks exactly the same except that the piece is narrower than the one we've bought which is deeper. Uploading a picture of the narrow one

I don't have the budget right now to buy new ones unfortunately. I will buy new ones later, but right now we just need to get a door in place.
