Hi! Hard to come up with a catchy headline for this question!
In our apartment, the water pipe runs in the corner of the living room and it is enclosed in a "box" constructed of steel rails and plasterboard that is then wallpapered. Now, the box was intact when we moved in but because of reasons, it is no longer! ("Let's just remove the corner trims so it looks a bit cleaner?")
So now to my question, how would you repair this? Note that for aesthetic reasons I don't want to use wooden corner trims, but a thin corner trim is okay if it can be plastered over.
Thanks in advance to all you nice and helpful souls here on the forum who can put up with rookies like us!

  • Damaged corner box in living room made of steel tracks and plasterboard, partially torn wallpaper, with newspapers and a brush on the floor.
  • Damaged drywall corner box with visible steel framing and plaster chipping, part of a water pipe enclosure in a living room corner.
  • Damaged plasterboard box around a corner pipe in a living room, with exposed steel framing and insulation, requiring repair.
Replace the broken skivor and spackle in hörnjärn and paint in a bright color.

Remove broken gypsum, replace with intact gypsum. Install metal edging for gypsum, spackle, paint, and look happy.

All external corners on gypsum should have metal/corner protection. Available in all hardware stores.
