Tips on good key lock for outdoor gate?
Hello!
I am looking for a convenient locking mechanism for a fence gate that prevents kids from getting out onto the street. The gate will be built with simple boards and placed between two fence posts about 1 m high and have a thickness of 9.5 cm * 9.5 cm.
I have searched in vain for a sensible locking mechanism. It should be a lock with a key – but it must also be a bit more convenient than just a latch and padlock. Installing a proper lock with a box and lock case that also fits a somewhat ”flimsy” construction like a garden gate doesn't seem easy, so I prefer some kind of simpler solution.
Does anyone have tips on where to find a cheap and good key lock solution for this purpose? The closest I've found myself are these

but they don't seem too convenient – I'm also doubtful how they handle the harsh outdoor climate in Skåne.
A very big thank you in advance for any ideas.

You can install an AD lock, there is also one with a key if you need to lock it, otherwise, you place the removable handle inside. AD locks withstand outdoor climates; I use them for the horse stables where the doors remain open in rain and harsh weather year-round.
