Timber for trellis?

Hello!

What is appropriate to use for lumber when I'm building a trellis for an indoor staircase? Regular studs are often a bit warped, and you want a trellis to be perfectly straight.

Is there a guide on which dimensions are good to go for? It shouldn't look too bulky, but at the same time, it needs to have some strength so they don't break if someone/something falls into them.

All tips and thoughts are gratefully received!

Not an expert but thought about sauna boards. They are probably nice and knot-free.

There is a board that is designed for that.
Södra interiör had it.
Interiorwood.se is the new address, but it seems to be under construction.

Bought from Karl Hedin but it is probably available in other places as well.
