Is there anyone who knows where to find asbestos regarding older tile stoves and flue connections/chimney connections?

By the way, what is the difference between a flue connection and a chimney connection, or do they mean the same thing? That is, the connection between the fireplace and the actual flue in the chimney/shaft?

I've heard that you can find asbestos in/at old tile stoves and flue connections/chimney connections, but I haven't understood where you find this and in what form the asbestos is? As insulation? In the mortar?

The reason for my question is that I found some kind of loose material at the bottom of a masonry channel that is now used as an exhaust channel but was previously used as a smoke channel. I can imagine there was a tile stove here before. I'm wondering if the loose material could be remnants from some form of asbestos insulation between the previous tile stove and the smoke channel. Or it could simply be old "junk," that is, a mix of mortar, debris, soot.

Grateful for tips and good advice! :) And, for those of you annoyed by my previous asbestos questions, it was a long time ago, and I'm only seeking constructive answers.
