Wondering if anyone has ideas on how to secure against theft for a wall in a large garage located remotely in the woods but that will contain some valuable items such as tools and machines. It will probably be uninsulated, and it is much easier to get in through the wall than to force a door that is relatively good. Sheet metal or steel mesh or what experiences are there??
Reinforcement mesh up to just over 2m in height attached on the inside was common in the military's metal storage buildings in the past.

There are ready-made solutions for building a steel mesh cage inside the garage, but I don't think that solution is particularly cheap. There are many private customers in Liiiidingö, whom I've done work for, who have such mesh cages for their insanely expensive wine collections. But you probably need some type of mesh cage if it's going to be reasonably burglar-proof. Or a chicken wire along the walls connected via a resistor (light bulb) to 230 V, where only you know where the switch is. However, I'm not sure if that "burglary protection" is entirely legal.
Alarms only serve as confirmation that there has been a break-in - the junkies don't care about that at all, they go in anyway and take what they want.

There might be some type of cable or rope that twists up a lot or gets stuck in the cutting tool if you try to get in.

Thick kevlar plates like those in bulletproof vests might be able to work.
If you have real valuables and want your room to be classified as secure storage, if I recall correctly, you'll need studs at cc30, chipboard on top, and 1mm thick metal plates that overlap at least 50mm over the item, screwed into all the studs with about 10-20cm between screws. For fire protection, gypsum should be screwed through the metal and into the studs with the metal screwed with 15cm between screws, so the gypsum aligns evenly to avoid screwing into a screw head. It's probably needless to say that you should pre-drill the metal and measure carefully to ensure you don't miss the studs in the wall.
So you'll have a good secure storage where everything works together, and you'll have many thousands of screws binding everything, so if someone drives into it with a car, the force is distributed over hundreds of screws and holes, which is then distributed with the studs and chipboard. With gypsum on both sides, it's hard to set on fire, and you could burn down the whole house, and the storage would still stand when everything flammable has burned up before the heat penetrates the gypsum and causes the metal to warp.
It will be secure but not cheap, as it's about 10kg of metal/m2, gypsum, and screws, but let's say it costs around 400 SEK/m2 for the wall if you do everything yourself, and don't forget to reinforce the floor too. A room 5x5m and 2.5m high should cost about 20-25k SEK or maybe budget a bit higher for safety's sake, but then you'll have secure storage. If you install a vibration detector, I don't think even junkies will bother trying to break in for 10-60 minutes if an alarm is blaring, or if they try to ram the house with a car a few times after the alarm has gone off, people will probably notice if you have a good sounding siren.
