Moved into a newly built house.
In the shower area, we have underfloor heating (water-based) like in the rest of the floor.

What I've noted is that the grout around the shower drain is generally always a bit damp.
I'm wondering if it's supposed to be like this?

I'm attaching 2 pictures, here's how it looks 9.5 hours after someone last showered.

You can also still see a bit of plastic in the drain.

Shower drain with stainless steel cover, showing damp grout around the edges. Plastic is slightly visible after recent water use.

Close-up of a shower drain with visible wet grout and exposed plastic edge, suggesting moisture retention several hours after use.

Isn't it reasonable for it to take a couple of days for the grout to dry completely, especially around the drain which is most exposed? After all, water "runs" down through all the joints and then under the tiles on the waterproofing layer towards the drain.

I am not sure that the dark spots are moisture, the grout tends to attract dirt. Otherwise, as Anna describes above, it can take days before the grout is completely dry, and by the well, it takes longer. There may also be moisture left under the tiles, which makes it take time for the grout to dry.

Yes, the dark spots are because it's wet, definitely.
It's not dirt.

But if it's normal that it can take a day maybe before it becomes dry, then there are no problems?

And regarding the visible plastic, they haven't removed the protective plastic that sits on the well when it's new! Careless.....

Had similar concerns about my grout when the bathroom was new. There were a couple of spots where it seemed wet long after a shower. It turned out that in those specific spots, the thinset, which is much darker than the grout, had crept up too far between the tiles during installation. The grout was very thin right there and the thinset was "showing" through. Whether this is the case in your bathroom, I have no idea. In any case, if the waterproofing is done properly, it shouldn't be a problem regardless...

not strange at all. a little moderately saturated with conditioner, shampoo, soap.

It's reassuring that it doesn't seem to be any danger then!

It will be tested to see how it looks 24h after a shower sometime, when the opportunity arises.

The plastic...yes it's still there in the corners, really hard to reach the last parts.
But it doesn't have any negative impact on the construction/function overall, does it?

I have heard (so take it for what it's worth) that it can take several months for tile, adhesive, and grout to dry out completely after showering. In other words, it never gets completely dry between showers in a normal scenario.
