I am planning to furnish my upper floor and am considering building a temporary staircase during the construction period.
How should I go about it?
Build with regular lumber 45x120? Thicker or thinner dimension?
Screw triangles onto the joists and then steps on that?
I had a provisional outdoor staircase that lasted ten years. Stringers of 45x145, onto which horizontal 45x45 joists served as supports for the steps made of laid 45x95. The steps were toe-nailed into the stringers. All in untreated timber.
