Technique, drilling in concrete

Hello,

In the coming years, I plan to replace all the doors and door frames in the basement. All the walls are made of concrete. I have already replaced one door frame, but it didn't turn out well. I am using frame screws, which need to be anchored in the concrete and pre-drilled.

How on earth should one:
1. Know exactly where to drill? When marking through the holes in the frame, you don't get it right. Measure for it?
2. Get the drill to land where you've marked? Since the concrete drill bits are thick at the top, it's not possible to center the hole perfectly where you want it; the drill moves. I've tried pre-drilling with a smaller bit, without success. I'm using proper drills and a hammer drill.

There are guides that you place in the holes for the frame screw. Wedge the frame, place a centering in the hole, and drill; move to the next hole until you have drilled all the holes, remove the frame, drill the holes to the correct size, plug, and mount the frame with frame screws.

Essve has centering sleeves in their range for 5 and 10 mm drill I believe

Yes, if you use 10mm directly, you don't need to take down the frame, you just need to drive in the plug through the frame and then screw in the frame screw. I did it this way when I installed all the doors and windows in my house.

Yes, it is even easier. I used plugs because I have Leca, which is not the most installation-friendly material.
