Hello
I have an incredibly ugly wood panel ceiling in the townhouse (wood). I talked to a neighbor who had torn down his and put up plasterboard. However, he had directly attached the plasterboard to the joists? I'm quite a beginner at this, but is that a good solution?! It feels like it's better to frame it anew and attach the plasterboard to that?

Normally, you install a sparse panel cc 300 which you then screw the gypsum into. Possibly plastic if it's windy above.

No, sparse 28x70 if you have trusses at c/c 1200 mm
gypsum 1200 width sparse 400 c/c, gypsum width 900 mm sparse 450 c/c

Why not screw directly onto the panel when it's tongue and grooved, it has good bearing capacity and you don't lose much ceiling height.
