Hi!
I'm considering tearing down the wall between 2 rooms in a small cabin of only 15-20 sqm. How should I go about it? How do I know where the electricity is wired? In the picture, you can see the room where I plan to open up from the door. I will need to keep the small wall to the left. What should I consider? It's probably not a load-bearing wall. There are no blueprints. The door is only 60cm wide and about 170cm high.
Grateful for all tips and ideas on how to do this yourself.
Unfortunately, allotment cottages probably don't follow any laws when it comes to construction methods. Normally, a transverse wall like yours shouldn't be load-bearing, but could it be an old exterior wall? It requires a bit more investigation. You can probably make a larger door without problems.

You need to ask the association if you can tear it down, as it may be about how big the cottage is allowed to be.
I'm in that situation right now as my brother rebuilt without permission, and now I have to build it back again.
