Hello!

I'm almost done tearing out the carpet in the staircase and replacing it with glued oak steps (16 mm). I plan to oil the steps, and the stringers will be painted white.

The question is: What type of (white) sealant is best suited to fill the small expansion gap I've left between the step and the stringer? I need something that can be easily wiped off (in case of spills) from the oiled oak surface while also being durable over time.

Best regards,
Fredrik

Acrylic sealant would be suitable, you can paint over it with the same color as you have on the stringers.
If not cured, wash it off with water.
