As the title suggests. I'm facing an upgrade of my garage, mostly new paint, rearranging, and the like. The garage is "underground," meaning backfilled on two sides, with the garage door/window on one side and the house's basement on the last. The space is uninsulated, with a concrete slab, walls made of lightweight concrete, and what seems to be a cast ceiling. The only "cladding" in the space is that the ceiling has been fitted with träullit panels.

I'm considering how much I might lose by removing these now that I'm going to clear the space anyway.

My main incentives are to more easily install light fixtures or other fixtures in the ceiling, and possibly gain a few centimeters of ceiling height as it is very limited.

But träullit is a good material if you believe the marketing. What do I have to lose by removing it from an uninsulated, otherwise concrete-clad space like a garage? Sound, moisture, temperature? Share your thoughts.

It gets colder and noisier.
Träulliten also functions as a moisture balancer.

Hmm, just as I suspected then. Thank you for your response!(y)
