I have heard that when you nowadays buy a prefab house from CERTAIN manufacturers, all the studs for interior walls are equipped with some kind of "click" system and that the studs you bolt into the floor and ceiling have milled slots at cc 600!? Is it like this? Seems convenient or should you measure and nail as usual? Does Eksjöhus have this system??

I have seen something similar at some point, but don't remember exactly what, where, or why.. It certainly sounds smooth, while at the same time it's a bit sad that carpentry jobs are increasingly becoming assembly jobs instead of craftsmanship.

Speaking of distance between the studs... our builder uses cc 45 on all the walls... I was a bit shocked when I saw it...

Are there more house manufacturers who do that??

Maybe to easily use 90-plasterboard instead of 120-plasterboard?! There is a certain difference in carrying a 90 board versus a 120 one :o

Furthermore, it is now standard to use 900 instead of 1200 gips on construction sites, precisely due to ergonomics.

That could explain it... nice that the house manufacturer thinks about ergonomics when they're not the ones nailing the house together...
