Hello!
I am looking for strips/rods for the bottom channel in roller blinds and have become interested in masonite, which IKEA uses in some of theirs. The thickness is just over 6 mm. Does anyone know where I can find such materials? It will probably involve a larger quantity, and so far I have only found large sheets and high prices to have them cut (20 SEK per cut). Ideas, experiences, and tips about suppliers would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

Do you have access to any type of circular saw?

Yes, I could actually fix that, but I think it should be possible to order the moldings from a sawmill or something...

They are a bit thicker and maybe too high, but there are foglister that are 8*21.
It could be an alternative.

Well, then it costs accordingly. Otherwise, you can just take a regular masonite board, which is 3mm thick, and cut it into strips that are laid double.

Mmm, what I'm hesitant about with those is that they don't retain their shape. I think there's a risk it will become skewed if the wood warps... and then there's that cost aspect too. Will investigate again - thanks!

Now I don't know what the masonite costs but the list is about 7:- /mtr
Not exactly expensive in my eyes but it depends on the volumes you need

Now, my comment about "expensive" was a response to TS's considerations about ordering strips from a sawmill. Bubblaren's reply managed to come in between.
