A few years ago when Coop Bygg existed, they had a stand with several lying paper tubes where you could find nice thin oak moldings (and pine?) in different profiles, about 1 meter long. Unfortunately, I've never seen a similar selection at any other building supply store. Have you? (The moldings are not for regular rough carpentry at home but more in a fine carpentry style, e.g., for creating panels on your doors)

The hardware stores seem to have completely stopped with "nice" moldings, they have like 3 different profiles, lots of plastic, MDF with veneer and similar... Sad.

But I visited a place that sold "real" moldings last week. I don't know if they have what you're looking for, but they have a good selection...

What dimensions do you have in mind?

I happened to think of model building stores, where all the strips are usually in one-meter lengths. They may not have oak, but most often pine and mahogany.

It has admittedly been a few years since I looked for such moldings. But back then, they were available at Bauhaus, Hornbach, and Ekesiöö. At the latter, you can cut the moldings and only pay for what you need.

Hornbach in Gothenburg has oak in any case, I'm pretty sure.

Bauhaus & Fredells are still running similar, at Bauhaus there may be quite a few profiles but Fredells has a good range where you can cut and pay per meter.

Thanks for all the answers. I will check Hornbach. Dimensions not completely clear yet but under 1x1.
