I am in the middle of renovating a functionalism-style townhouse from '67 and need help identifying the type of stone used as spark protection in our living room. The idea is to use the same type of stone for a top shelf on a custom-built shelf.

But it's probably some volcanic rock anyway
Take the picture to a stone quarry and they can probably identify it in no time.
