I have done it in such a way that I have screwed wooden battens onto the steel rule, which I then in turn attach the boxes to.

They show some construction with steel studs in the 'craftsman school,' carpenters indoors (film) I think it was.

They build a wall with a door.

Interesting thread with the same task I have ahead of me.

In the pictures, it looks like there are rails that you have bent - is that correct?

I have been thinking about building my entire house with steel studs. Lindab for example has steel studs specifically designed for attaching windows. Electrical boxes etc. can probably just be screwed in with sheet metal screws? Look at a car or bus, lots of screws and no wood.
