Staple down meadow barrier, is it okay?
Hello!
I'm reading a bit about vapor barriers that I found in this PDF:
http://www.icopal.se/upload/icopals...roduktinformation/akvaden folder_okt_2009.pdf
At the beginning of the document, it states that you cannot use staples as an installation aid.
I assume that does not mean that installation aid is the same as anchoring?
Because it must be okay to staple the foil to the studs?
Best regards,
Fredrik

I have always taken that for granted. How else would you get it to stay without puncturing it? Double-sided tape?
Moreover, you staple to the studs where a construction board of some sort will later be mounted. The construction board will then "seal" against the stud, so the "draft" through the hole should be minimal if even measurable.

...and if you miss taping a single hole, the house will rot away within a couple of years.
Take most of it with a pinch of salt.

But sometimes as a company you have both suspenders and a belt, and also a helmet, nail guard, etc. ..... In the best of worlds, there are no electricians who have to go through with pipes and boxes.
Agree with the previous speaker, the manufacturer wants to absolve themselves from everything, just slap it on.
