Staircase

Hi!

I'm in the process of planning the upstairs and wondering where the staircase will come up. Can you give an approximate idea of how long an L-shaped staircase will be? Floor-to-floor = 2720mm. The opening dimension is the most interesting part, not the length of the staircase itself.

It depends a bit on how long you make the lower part of the L. Longer here, shorter staircase.

But if you want to stay within a truss spread of cc1200mm, you should probably expect an opening of about 3 meters long between the trusses. Don't forget that you also need to have sufficient ceiling height in the staircase, no problem if it's a two-story house. But a one-story house with a finished attic and not too steep a roof slope may have difficulty starting the staircase by the exterior wall.

Thank you, it's a "regular" 1.5-story house with a 38* roof pitch. I think I can start from the outer wall below... You don't really need to have 240 ceiling height right where you come up, do you?

No.
There is some standard for that as well, but I can't remember or bother to look it up right now.
But something around 2 meters I think it was. (1.9-2.1 or so)
