I have a newly built wooden house with a plastered facade.
I'm planning to build an entrance staircase out of cobblestones.
I'm thinking of a base of bearing layers and then building a frame of large cobblestones and filling the actual step with small cobblestones; under the small cobblestones, I'll fill with bearing layers and then set the stones in earth-moist concrete and grout with concrete.

My question is how to handle the connection to the house. Can I build up to my plastered facade or is a gap needed? How well does the modern facade fare with stone and concrete right next to it?
