Hi, if you want to gather quotes for renovation/expansion, is it more appropriate to specify a U-value for a wall or a complete material spec in order, e.g., outer panel, gypsum, etc.? Or can you refer to the house AMA? I'm looking to get quotes for a 15m2 bathroom extension that will be on pillars and have a balcony (terrace) on the roof. Is there anyone who can quickly provide a spec or offer some tips or material experiences?

You don't want to compare apples and oranges...

Of course, you can refer to the house AMA, but then you must state in the description text that "This description connects to AMA 98" so you include all AMA, not just for houses but also plumbing, electricity, control, etc.... Then you should also include the correct heading for the correct building section. And don't write anything after the AMA code because then your text applies and not AMA.

Regarding the U-value, sure you want that, but no, I would attach a drawing with wall thickness and specified like gypsum, OSB, 45*170, etc....

An important thing if you use AMA is to start from the correct part, from the beginning. Then you have to include EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, otherwise, the additional work orders (ÄTA) will come like a letter in the mail... Be detailed in the request for a quote. Then you send drawings unless you leave it to the contractor (TotalEntreprenad). If you attach drawings, you are responsible for the accuracy of the documents, and if there are deficiencies, it will cost money; I wouldn't hesitate to send additional work orders for a deficient document... Being considerate towards private customers and pointing out deficiencies is another matter. In any case, it's probably governed by consumer law and stuff....

Where can you get the AMA books? Are they only available for purchase?

yep and they're super expensive check at svenskbyggtjänst... Or you can borrow from the library...Free and nice...

Aha...the library...I completely forgot about that resource...

Follow-up question?
In the extension, there is an Eternit facade; can it remain behind the future inner wall, or does it have to be removed? It could become expensive.??

Remove the eternit yourself. Just make sure you have a good respiratory mask when doing it. And it might be a good idea not to let the clothes come into the house afterward.

Also, check where you can dispose of the tiles (they should be packed in plastic bags while you're wearing protection). In many municipalities, you can "household dispose" a small amount at no cost.
