Hello,

I have demolished a concrete wall and am about to repair some wall damage from this. I'm wondering what type of filler/plaster I should use, and if any prep work is needed or if I can just start applying.

Should I go with plaster or the coarsest filler I can find? It's about 3 cm deep at worst, but 1-2 cm generally. See the pictures.

I would be very grateful for some guidance!

Best regards,
Daniel

Preferably choose a slightly weaker mortar like this one (unless you are very good with pure lime mortar, but the small repair doesn't matter much).

But ask for a KC mortar C and choose a fine-grained variant, meaning with a smaller size of the ballast, for a smoother surface. Any brand will do as all building supply stores have it in stock.

But clean off the old mortar first and pre-wet because you have an old and dry wall that absorbs a lot.

Repaired countless similar situations and used primer followed by plaster. Easy to mix, easy to use, and can be sanded down if it turns out uneven. Finish with classic sand filler. Never even thought of using anything other than plaster...

Should work fine - Personally, I've only used Finjas products but they should be equivalent. Make sure to check that the wall is straight beforehand, you may need to knock down a bit more around to get it even.
Use a straightedge or a straight plank to scrape off the mortar over the surface, or alternatively a wide putty knife.

Brush clean, vacuum, just wet with water in a spray bottle and plaster will work fine. All plaster is equivalent, I would say.

Alright, so went to buy plaster and primer!

When I started picking off some loose stuff at the bottom, a few large stones came off, so I picked a bit more and now there's like a cavity around the pipes (to the radiators) that go there.

Is it okay to just try to pack in the plaster around this as much as possible, or should I fill it with something else?

You might want to have those connections accessible...
Otherwise, it's fine to just poke in gypsum plaster.

Thank you, this is exciting!

How important is it for it to be absolutely clinically clean from loose stones and dried plaster?

I've realized that the more I poke around, the more comes loose. And I could probably tear down the whole wall if I continue.
