Ecophone works excellently as absorbers to reduce the reverberation time in the room. Especially in the range around 500-7000 Hz somewhere between thumb and forefinger... In the kitchen, you don't have the same sound because you probably have cabinets on the walls, which diffuse your sound somewhat... Panels on the ceiling... a rug on the wall. :-)
A carpet works to eliminate reflections....
You glue the panels with tile adhesive or tile cement to the ceiling if you don't want to create a separate framework... Use Edge E tiles to get neater seams... Edge A might look a bit odd if you glue, however not if you install it in a framework...

I can guess that you have problems with early reflections in the corners, wall-wall, ceiling-wall, and wall-floor...
You probably want sparse furnishing, and this is the direct cause of the peculiar reverberation unfortunately... And if you are doing the ceiling, do the whole thing, it looks somewhat better... Alternatively, one can make Helmholtz absorbers, but that's more advanced stuff and overkill...

Alternatively, you can make helmholtsabsorbengter but then we're getting into tougher stuff and advanced topics......
And thorough measurements and calculations, ouch now it hit the wallet. ;)

Acousticians have good fees....But with the room dimensions, we can calculate the resonance frequencies... Do we do it for free? Yes, we can :-)

But you have to pay for the calculation of the resonator. :)

A complication is probably that it is presumably a gabled roof with full ceiling height.

Another variant is probably panel absorbers/resonators, I can't remember what they are called, oil cloth or something. If I remember correctly, it was possible to use disks as well.
