Starting to consider the ceiling in the new kitchen. I'd prefer smooth ceilings as they suit the house better than short planks. Do you think it will hold in a wooden house without cracking at the seams? I was thinking of using these http://www.bauhaus.se/norgips-plan-13x900x2400mm.html screwed onto 46x70 battens to make room for the junction boxes for the spotlights, with tongue and groove boards covering the entire ceiling today.
We have installed Gyproc's equivalent throughout the house. The painter wanted the boards to be up for a while before jointing so any moisture could dry out. Then used paper tape and it hasn't cracked in the six months it's been up at least.

Giving up on the special boards since no hardware store seems to have them in stock at reasonable prices. Going with regular drywall, but the question is whether the studs should be laid across or along with the boards and what the cc distance should be.
cc should be 30 or 40 cm
I would place the boards along the furring (that's what cc above is intended for). If the room is so large that it needs joints on the short sides as well, I would place noggings there, but see if you can avoid it; there are boards that are 3m long.
edit: Regarding the noggings, I would have cheated by just placing noggings before the next plasterboard that is screwed only into the plaster, if you know what I mean...

The room is L-shaped but approximately 360x560 and 510 on the shorter piece. I need to buy a bit more gles as I had planned to place it across (360) with cc 40 for the Planum board. The question is whether the sheet joints should be staggered or aligned as they are for the Planum board.
