Working on a small budget/quick project for a bathroom in the basement of my parents' house.

Yesterday, I tore out the toilet and the rest of the contents. On the walls, there was a 60s plastic wall system in the shower corner where the plaster behind could be removed with a light touch.

So now I have a cleared room with 2 of the walls bare down to the concrete blocks, one of which is an exterior wall and the other a former exterior wall (i.e., the same kind). The other walls are thinner interior walls that are left untouched/smooth.

So to the question:
Is there anything preventing me from just patching the drill holes and minor damages and painting directly on the blocks?

If possible, should I use silicate paint?

I think it looks nice and a bit more lively if it were possible to retain the texture that the concrete blocks give these two walls.

See no obstacles with that, and yes, silikatfärg is probably best.

How were you planning to do the shower corner itself? Cabin?

Thanks for the answer and yep, it will be a cabin.
