Skim coat on sawdust wallpaper?

Hello everyone! I have a cloasong wall that needs plastering.

It is covered with textured wallpaper (sawdust and paper). If I tear off the wallpaper, the rendering comes off.

So, is it possible to attach reinforcement mesh over the wallpaper and plaster on it?

The wallpaper might start peeling off the wall when it gets wet from the plaster; see if you can wet the wallpaper instead. You can create some wallpaper paste on the wall, then cover it with plastic wrap, and by the next day, the wallpaper should be loose. Try it on a small section first.
