I want to place a water heater above the ceiling in my bathroom to save space. The heater is 110 liters and thus weighs around 140 kg when full. I would prefer to avoid having 110 liters of scalding hot water pouring over me when I'm sitting on the toilet :) The span between the walls is 135 cm. I would prefer to lower the ceiling as little as possible. Can I use 3 pieces of 2"x4"s, screw 22 mm chipboard or plywood on top, and place the heater in the middle of the joists (the heater is 33 cm wide) so it rests on all 3, or does it seem too weak?

Håller!

I also think it holds well.

If you want a little extra load-bearing capacity, glue and screw the plywood or particle board to the joists.

Thank you for the response!
