Hello there! I'm in the process of renovating an old cabin and planning to design for a turf roof. I've used byggbeskrivningar.se to determine what I need for dimensions on the center beam and rafters, etc. (attaching image). But do I need to reinforce the existing studs in the wall? I think the ones there now are 45x95, with spacing that's a bit all over the place.

I should add that I'm going to keep one half of the cabin (the timber-framed part) and demolish the other half which is a log structure. So, on one half, I will build everything new from the ground up.

I don't know if you've used the correct input values, 4 kN/sqm in dead weight sounds a lot. But 45x95 studs in the wall under the roof beams can handle the roof loads without any problem. If you upgrade the strength class of the roof beams to C24, the deflection will be less than L/300.
