Currently renovating a cold garage whose sill plate wasn't protected against the concrete.

New sill plate is installed but what do you now put between them?
Gray foam strip?
PE foil with rubber strips?
Rubber strip?
Tar paper?
Platon mat?

It's a COLD garage so Platon works, no need for it to be sealed.

You write that the sill is mounted? So what are you going to put plastic or the like under...?

The wall has been removed and the old sill replaced, now new concrete is to be cast and the wall with the new sill is to be put back, but what is it that is placed between the sill and the concrete today?

PE foil with rubber strips will be great, or really any kind of gasket seal.. Platon is not recommended, as it creates too much pressure on a small area for it.

Good luck!

You should be able to use whichever you want, overall.
I've used sill insulation foam (or base insulation foam as T-emb calls it), similar to thin sleeping mats.

Because I appreciate that it absorbs any irregularities and offers a relatively wind-resistant joint between the base and the sill.

In your case, it doesn't seem necessary, but you might change the building's use in the future, who knows.
Don't you have some old roofing felt lying around somewhere in storage? It should damp proof well enough.

It won't change as I already have 2 heated garages and will build another one.
Then I just remembered that I have a roll of roofing felt lying around after the playhouse build.

So maybe I don't need to buy.

Hehe, very very cool playhouse ... :)

Imagine if the daughter now 9 years old was just as cool and was there just once.
2 floors
Balcony
Drawbridge
Spiral staircase
Pillory

It's for sale, but a bit difficult to transport as it is 4.5 m high (normal clearance height 4.6 m)
