I have an old improperly cast outer staircase, meaning it was cast over the original steps which resulted in substantial cracks.
I've seen quick fixes with some form of silicone (or what could it be?) that seals the cracks and prevents water & snow from getting into the 'undercarriage'. Does anyone know about this? The repairs have looked somewhat decent - at least better than open cracks.
Anyone know of a suitable product?

We have something called "Sikaflex-11FC" at home that works for sealing and floor joints outdoors, this sealant is also sandable and comes in a few different colors. We have used a shade called "Betonggrå" and it worked excellently on unpainted concrete. It both seals and conceals cracks in concrete and withstands mechanical wear.

If you're still standing with the brush, you can put it down now.yonna said:

I have 'dabbed' some paint from Humbrol ... it looks okay at least ... it's not really meant to hide that the stairs are cracked but rather to show that the stairs have been taken care of after all
. Don't want to deceive any potential rich buyer!
