People who have had paneling directly on windproofing seem to have problems more frequently compared to those of us who have it directly on asfaboard (?).
At least if you google around a bit. Haven't yet found anyone who has had problems with asfaboard, but they might exist.

Moreover, I live in northern Norrbotten, so we have quite a dry climate here. :)
Thought so. Horizontal faspanel is probably much more waterproof compared to vertically mounted.

And isn't it so that the asfaboard has small holes all over its surface, which might allow water to disappear "inward"?

And yes, climate can probably play a big role.
